Quinoa Might be a Superfood, but, are you allowed to have it on a ketogenic diet?

No, even though quinoa has a lot of protein, it is still a 4:1 ratio of carb to protein and is therefore not recommended for Keto individuals.

Quinoa is a seed that acts as a grain alternative in many people’s diet. As such, quinoa is gluten-free and is very healthy with a high protein content that is filling and satisfying. Given this high protein count, some people argue for quinoa’s inclusion in the Keto diet.
However, while quinoa does have more protein than your average grain it still contains a 4:1 ratio of carbs to protein. As such, it is not allowed on the Keto diet and should be avoided by Keto users at all costs.
